Going Back To School With Some Love And Encouragement
It’s that time once again! New backpacks, new shoes, and maybe a fresh haircut all in the excitement of preparing for going BACK TO SCHOOL. It may be that your baby is heading off to preschool for the first time or they are starting kindergarten in the “Big Kids School”. Whatever it may be, it can be a time of joyous anticipation or a time of uncertainty mixed with feelings of anxiousness. And I not just referring to the children, but also to parents as well. How many of us have left our child off with a smiling reassuring teacher only to break down in tears once we are in the car or back home? I certainly have. Transitions can be difficult for the whole family even good transitions like going back to school. Talking about them before they happen for all involved may make it seem less scary. I also recommend some great children’s books about going to school. Two of my favorites are The Kissing Hand by Audrey Penn and Llama Llama Misses Mama by Anna Dewdney. These will open the conversation with your child about how they are feeling as they head off to school like Chester Raccoon and Llama Llama.
I’m also excited to announce that during August and September, I’m giving away FREE “Back-To-School Notes Cards of Encouragement” when you purchase my book Come Under My Umbrella. After purchasing my book you will receive a thank you and a download for the cards will be sent to your email. You will simply click on the link and download the cards. Print them back-to-back, cut them out, and fold them in half. You will have 10 fun little notes to share with the children in your life. A sweet little note of encouragement will let your child know you are thinking about them and that they are loved. Get creative and find fun ways to leave a little note card perhaps tucked inside a lunchbox, backpack, book, or coat pocket. I would love to hear how you use the note cards!
Blessing to you and your family during this season.
