“International Take A Walk Outdoors Day”

January 20 is “International Take A Walk Outdoors Day”!!!

Maybe you’ll see a rainbow!

“Get up! Walk through all this land. I am now giving it to you.” Genesis 13:17

Take your kids outside for some adventurous fun!!! Turn off those screens and journey outdoors for a little exercise and fresh air no matter what the weather, rain, sunshine, or even snow. Grab your umbrellas, sunglasses, or snowshoes whatever the weather calls for, and head out to your favorite trail, path, or just around your neighborhood.

In my story, Selah could hardly wait to take her umbrella out on a rainy day walk where she discovered amazing blessings. Take a walk and find your own blessings and wonder. God has given us the gifts of so many beautiful treasures of nature just out our backdoor. I would love to hear about what sort of weather day you experienced and what was something special you discovered. You can add to the fun by downloading my Scavenger Hunt Game for your walk.

To spark your child’s curiosity for the walk I suggest my book Come Under My Umbrella along with a few others. I Took A Walk by Henry Cole reminds us to stop and listen and look closely. There are also some fun books on hiking which is just another word for walk. The Hike by Alison Farrell and Hike by Pete Oswald.

Here is a video to remind you to stop and enjoy the small things on your walk.

A Child, Her Dog, and a Puddle

Enjoy your walk!!!
